We don’t want any secrets in our hands.

We are driven by the beautiful possibility of the greening of the Mediterranean.

And we can only do this in cooperation with many hands.

To expand our sowing methodology we offer you trainings, both online and on-site.

We are raising funds to digest, organize and publish knowledge about seed technologies (priming, pelleting and mycorrhizae), as it is not accessible to the non-academic public.

It is needed to bring this knowledge into the culture to make the restoration of our forests more effective, respectful and cheaper.

This knowledge about the use of seeds is also needed by small farmers who, in the neoliberal capitalist economy, need to be empowered to deal with big corporations.

Online training presentacion “Entiende tus semillas”

Online training “Entiende tus semillas”

In this course we review the types of seeds and their properties, as well as introducing the priming technique to improve germination in both horticultural and forestry species.

We have designed the course both for reforesters and farmers, who want to broaden their knowledge about the use of seeds in their activities, and for the population in general, to improve seed culture.

If you are a tree planter and want to start planting seeds successfully directly in the bush, this course shows you the way forward.

The course is designed so that you can understand what we are teaching you: it is not an explanation of recipes for each species. So the knowledge you gain can be transferred to the seeds of the species you are interested in.

You will be able to access the Dronecoria forum to post your doubts and publish your experiences.

This course may interest to you if you want to:

  • discover alternatives to reforestation by planting trees.
  • learn and practice simple techniques to improve germination.
  • understand what a seed is doing until it germinates.
  • understand what dormancy is and how to deal with it.
  • sort out ideas about genetics, types of seeds, fruit tree seeds, etc…

Course topics

  • Types of seeds according to their genetic history: wild, traditional, improved, hybrid and GMO. The case of fruit trees.
  • The process of seed germination. How to carry out a germination test. Sowing pre-germinated seeds.
Introduction to seed conditioning or priming. How to carry out a simple priming treatment.
  • An in-depth look at hydropriming for seed without dormancy. How to perform a hydropriming treatment.
  • Introduction to understanding dormancy in wild seed. Classical methods of dormancy breaking and the new light given by priming. Application of hydropriming to halepensis pine.
  • Basic tips for seed collection and storage.
  • Basic tips for fungal control during germination.

The aim of launching this course is to transfer seed technology into culture, as well as to raise funds for our projects.

The proceeds from the sale of the course will be invested 50/50 between the Sierra Lujar Restoration Project and Aguabosque Permaculture Project.

Note: this training is in Spanish.

On-site training courses

We provide training both in our seed laboratory in the Alpujarra Granadina (Andalusia), as well as anywhere in the world where you want to learn sowing methodologies.

Our trainings for organizations are on demand, depending on the topics you want to learn more about.

The aim of these trainings is to train organizations involved in forest restoration so that they can use direct seeding in their reforestation activities.
